Special Collections

Uni­ver­si­ty of Vic­to­ria Spe­cial Col­lec­tions serves as a research and teach­ing resource for stu­dents, fac­ul­ty, and the com­mu­ni­ty at large. Its man­date is to col­lect, pre­serve, and make acces­si­ble rare books, man­u­scripts, archi­tec­tur­al plans, pho­tographs, and oral his­to­ry inter­views. Spe­cial Col­lec­tions pro­vides a ref­er­ence ser­vice and allows instruc­tors to deliv­er class­es using mate­r­i­al from the col­lec­tion with­in the Spe­cial Col­lec­tions class­room. Learn more

Digital Scholarship Commons

The DSC assists fac­ul­ty, stu­dents, and staff in learn­ing dig­i­tal tools and method­olo­gies to help them pur­sue their pas­sions and tell their research sto­ries in engag­ing ways, in a wel­com­ing, equi­table, and diverse envi­ron­ment. They encour­age inter­dis­ci­pli­nary work across cam­pus in order to spark cross-dis­ci­pli­nary con­ver­sa­tions. They offer ser­vices to help our UVic com­mu­ni­ty become well-versed in dig­i­tal infor­ma­tion flu­en­cy through one-on-one train­ing, work­shops, dig­i­tal cur­ricu­lum devel­op­ment advice, tools, soft­ware, and more. Learn more
